BEHIND THE SCENES OF HIGHER EDUCATION
Have you ever
thought and wondered how life in campus is? Through my personal experience in
campus am very sure you will have a clue on something regarding campus life be
it positive or negative.
When I was in highschool, I always had a dream
of joining either a public or private University to study Journalism.I.And here
I was,a University student, eager to taste Campus life.
During my first
year,I found everything new.I had new friends and I got to learn different
vocabularies like what we used to call dormitories back in highschoo, l in
campus it was being referred to as hostels.Imagine of such life where
everything seems very new to you right from adjusting to the new environment. I
had to be more responsible and know how to spend money since I had to utilize
the money given to me by my parents. On one occasion, I misused my money andI
had to eat Ice cream for lunch πππ..
Being several miles away from home often made me to miss home ,πbut what else could I do rather than adjusting to Campus life.
And here came the
Joyriding year, Cats and classes became very optional. I was not determined
like the previous year. Life sounded so smooth but I had to continue working
hard because if I failed in any of my exams I would be required to do a retake
which cost 1000 shillings. Wueh! imagine that whole amount for a broke comrade.
Social events here were very mandatory π
. People went to clubs, movie nights. For those people who were perceived to be
'holy' most of us attended evening devotions and 'Keshas 'every Friday. At this
stage you need money ,I started hustling. I made liquid soaps, stasoft which I
could sell to my fellow classmates.
The third year was smooth and well organized. My hustle was really growing so at least I had Money. I was able to eat the food I wanted unlike in my first year where I could stick to eating only 3 chapatis and lentils which we often referred to as'tatu pojo'.I got a chance to join the Choir and since God blessed me with a nice voice I used it well.
After
class manenos
In the final year,
life gets very busy. The year with alot of projects and needs much attention. Its
in this year that you are getting ready for graduation. University is not
restricted to sex, alcohol and drugs. In as much as people acquire life skills,
you will also learn to hustle and survive in this world since only the fittest
do survive. And most importantly your degree, diploma or even Certificate will
open doors to your life and you will have limitless opportunities.
